    Paradoxically, doing a complete 180 and adopting a very gentle, totally natural skin care and beauty routine (together with a nutrient-dense diet, naturally!) Finally let me reach my dreams’ clear skin.

    Nowadays, my skincare routine can also be geared towards anti-aging.

    And because I geek out on natural beauty and skincare more it seemed appropriate to put a post about my skincare and beauty routine.

    Do organic beauty and skincare products really work?

    Oh totally!

    Yes, once upon a time it had been pretty tough to find without even flaking under your eyes a pure mascara that lasted over an hour.

    But as demand for safer products along with the organic beauty market has grown, we know have a ton of natural, safe, high-performing alternatives to select from.

    So no, you don’t need to sacrifice beauty in the name of wellness or vice versa!

    And lots of natural, non-toxic skin care ingredients like vitamin C, vitamin E, CoQ10, charcoal, and niacinamide are so powerful that they have even snuck into mainstream attractiveness lines. And skincare practices like exfoliation help prevent defects and boost collagen production — whether you’re using a natural exfoliant or nasty-filled exfoliant! So choose the edition, I say!

    OK let’s get to it!

    I wash my head a day. Yes, just once every day! Your face can quickly throw away from microbiome and the pH of your skin, both of which are key for keeping skin clean and healthy.

    I choice between Beautycounter’s Charcoal Cleansing pub , which is great for purifying pores, also InstaNatural’s Glycolic Acid Facial Cleanser so as to not over-exfoliate my epidermis. That being said acid is a superb exfoliant which helps both to keep blemishes and signs of aging away. Win win!

    EXFOLIATION

    Exfoliation is a absolute MUST. Therefore, if you’re not doing it you have to begin ASAP, my friend. As it helps to keep pores clear and stimulates collagen production. Plus, it improves skin texture and helps makeup go on a lot more easily.

    But when it comes to exfoliation, it is so important not to overdo it! Those with oily skin should exfoliate 1-2 times each week while people with skin should exfoliate no longer than once. And since I do use an exfoliating face wash every other dayI exfoliate just once a week.

    I prefer and recommend chemical exfoliants (acids and enzymes) over granular exfoliants (scrubs).

    FACE MIST

    I have recently become obsessed with the hydrosols of Mountain Rose Herb! They provide skin with the benefits of those botanical extracts that are pure and smell amazing. I’ve tried nearly all of them (embarrassing to acknowledge!)

    Vitamin C does it all. As a powerful antioxidant it is helpful to reduce blemishes increases the production of collagen, and helps lighten dark spots.

    I’ve tried a great deal of different vitamin C serums and also my favorite is unquestionably Mad Hippie’s Vitamin C Serum. Instead of l-ascorbic acid (that could be quite irritating and oxidizes easily), it contains sodium ascorbyl phosphate, which is very gentle, considerably more stable, and studies have found to be more beneficial for combating acne and eczema. Additionally, it includes a lot of additional skin-loving goodies such as hydrating hyaluronic acid, antioxidant ferulic acid, and konjac root (which helps fade hyperpigmentation). So much to love!

    MOISTURIZER

    It’s all about the oils, infant. Whenever anyone compliments my skin (it blows my head when that happens!) , I immediately blurt out « FACE OIL! » And start gushing with an excitement that is intense about it the way a child gushes about a day in the beach/their favorite exciting — you know, very fast and .

    I have tried dozens of different confront oils the various fatty acid compositions and the effect this has on different skin types fascinated me. Their vitamin and mineral contents, scents, and textures. And Ibottled up my best combinations and taken this years of obsessing research for you also — Body Unburdened Beauty Blends!

    At night after cleansing, exfoliating, and toning, I very generously apply Beauty Blend No.1. While I used to employ oils both night and day, I often use a pure CC cream during the day (see below) for some SPF coverage and absolute color.

    Oh goodness, do I really like a face mask. A week I use a mask about — a exfoliating mask like mentioned above once each week and either a hydrating or clay-based mask based on my skin’s needs.

    I slather on some organic raw honey if my skin is dry/irritated — honey is a natural humectant that draws and holds water.

    However, I combine one of my Body Unburdened Customizable Mud Masks and the honey for the added plus of clays, hydrating aloe and marshmallow, and fruit and herbal extracts! (Yes, I still had a lot of fun formulating and testing these!)

    While I see something starting to rear its ugly head, I stand strong and scream »GO AWAY, MONSTER! » Just kidding; that’s what I tell my niece to do if we encounter »creatures » while enjoying. I dab a tiny lavender essential oil on the blemish for a spot treatment before employing my face oil. Most EOs will need to be diluted but lavender can be applied to the skin.

    Juice Beauty’s formula is a bit thicker, so that I use it on days when I need some protection. They’re both excellent, have SPF coverage that is decent, and a 1 Skin deep evaluation.

    On days when I want to stop shine or a little extra coverage, I apply 100% Pure’s Fruit Pigmented Powder Foundation at the top.

    In addition, I utilize 100% Pure’s Long Concealer with Super Fruits under my eyes. I have eyes which scrunch way way up when I smile AND pretty awful circles. Thus a great deal of concealers look cakey and accentuate my own saying lines around my eyes not a good look. This is!

    MASCARA

    100% Pure’s Black Tea Mascara. Hands down. The best. Enough said.

    I’m obsessed with creamy eye shadows that give a little bit of colour and shine without making me look like a 13 year old from 1998 (in other words, really glittery) — they somehow create my whole face look brighter and all glowy. Little miracle workers!

    My favorites: RMS Beauty Eye Polish (in just about every colour!) And 100% Pure’s Satin Eye Shadow at Star, which I use just to the corners of my eyes to brighten them up.

    BLUSH

    Beautycounter’s Satin Powder Blush is my current favorite. I favor because if employing over a CC cream or face oils, it’s easier to use a powder blush over cream, and I’m clearly about in regards to beauty, simplicity!

    LIP COLOR

    Ahh I really like a lip! When I’m a total mess, it makes me feel lady-like and pulled together.

    To get a night or more appearance, the Forever Pink Lip Stain of Jane Iredale is where it as the name implies it’s a bright pink which lasts.

    I’m also a huge fan of Beautycounter’s Sheer Lipstick — I have (and love) both the Rose and Poppy colors.

    My morning beauty routine only takes approximately 2-3 minutes with all the aforementioned goods and THAT is a beautiful thing. I spend more time staring at the fridge.

    And like I said, it is ironic that adopting an extremely easy, natural skincare regimen was able to totally change my complexion — I used to believe that I really needed all of those harsh chemicals in the products I was using, and the more the merrier. Now I know better (hell, I only wash my face once per day!) And my tears have been spent on much more significant things, such as the movie Up (seriously, I’d no idea it would be this a tear-jerker!!) .
