          If you have been around these parts before, you will know this is because I fought with adult acne in my early 20s.

          Oh absolutely!

          Yes, once upon a time it was pretty tough to obtain without flaking beneath your eyes, a pure mascara that lasted over an hour.

          However, as demand for safer products along with the organic beauty market has increased, we all know have a great deal of safe, natural, high-performing options to select from.

          So no, you don’t have to sacrifice beauty in the name of wellness or vice versa!

          And lots of natural, non-toxic skin care ingredients like vitamin C, vitamin E, CoQ10, charcoal, and niacinamide are so powerful that they’ve even snuck into mainstream attractiveness lines. And skin care techniques like exfoliation help prevent defects and boost collagen production — if you’re using a natural exfoliant or nasty-filled exfoliant! So why not choose the nasty-free version, I say!

          OK let’s get into it!

          My Super-Simple All-Natural Skincare And Beauty RoutineNatural Skincare


          I wash my face just once a day. Yes, just once a day! Your face may throw away from microbiome and the pH of your skin, each of which are crucial for keeping skin.

          I alternate between Beautycounter’s Charcoal Cleansing pub , which is great for purifying pores, also InstaNatural’s Glycolic Acid Facial Cleanser in order not to over-exfoliate my epidermis. That being said acid is a wonderful exfoliant that helps to keep blemishes and signs of aging off. Win win!


          Exfoliation is an absolute MUST. So if you’re not doing it however, you have to start ASAP. As it can help to keep pores clear and stimulates collagen production. Plus, it helps makeup go on more smoothly and improves skin texture.

          But when it comes to exfoliation, it is so important not to overdo it! While people with skin should exfoliate no more than once those with oily skin should exfoliate 1-2 times a week. And since I really do use an exfoliating face wash every other dayI exfoliate only once a week.

          FACE MIST

          I’ve recently become obsessed with the hydrosols of Mountain Rose Herb! They supply the benefits of these pure botanical extracts to skin and smell amazing. I’ve honestly tried nearly all of them (embarrassing to admit!) … but love the Lavender and Neroli most.

          Vitamin C does it all. As a powerful antioxidant it is helpful to reduce blemishes increases the production of collagen, also helps lighten dark spots.

          Now I’ve tried A LOT of vitamin C serums that were different and my favorite is Mad Hippie’s Vitamin C Serum. Rather than l-ascorbic acid (which can be quite irritating and oxidizes easily), it comprises sodium ascorbyl phosphate, which is very gentle, considerably more secure, and studies have found to be beneficial for combating breakouts and acne. Additionally, it contains a lot of other skin-loving goodies like hydrating hyaluronic acid, antioxidant ferulic acid, and konjac root (which helps fade hyperpigmentation). So much to appreciate!


          It’s all about the face oils, baby. Whenever anyone compliments my skin (it blows my mind when that happens!) , I immediately blurt out « FACE OIL! » And start gushing having an enthusiasm that is extreme about it the way a kid gushes about a day in the beach/their favorite movie/mermaids/anything remotely exciting — you know and all.

          I have tried dozens of different confront oils through the years — the different fatty acid compositions fascinated me. Their vitamin and nutrient contents, scents, and textures. And I’ve lately taken of obsessing research, this years and bottled up my combinations for you also — Body Unburdened Beauty Blends!

          While I used to employ oils both day and night, I now often use a pure CC cream throughout the day (see below) for some SPF coverage and sheer color.

          Oh goodness, do I love a good face mask. A week, I apply a mask about — an mask like mentioned above once a week and possibly a hydrating or clay-based mask depending on the needs of my skin.

          I will just slather on some organic honey, if my skin is dry/irritated is a natural humectant that draws and holds water.

          However, I mix one of my Body Unburdened Customizable Mud Masks and the honey for the extra benefit of clays, hydrating aloe and marshmallow, and fruit and herbal extracts! (Yes, I still had a lot of fun inventing and analyzing these!)

          When I see something starting to rear its ugly head, I stay strong and bravely scream »GO AWAY, MONSTER! » Just kidding; that’s exactly what I tell my niece to do when we encounter »monsters » while enjoying. I dab a little lavender essential oil on the blemish as a spot treatment before employing my face oil. EOs need to be diluted but lavender can be put on the skin.

          Natural Beauty

          DAILY SPF + COLOR

          Juice Beauty’s formulation is a little thicker, so that I use it when I need some more coverage. They are both fantastic, have a 1 Skin Deep rating, and decent SPF coverage.

          On days when I want to stop shine or a little extra coverage, I employ 100% Pure’s Fruit Pigmented Powder Foundation.

          I also use 100% Pure’s Extended Concealer with Super Fruits under my eyes. I have pretty bad circles when I smile AND eyes which scrunch up way. Thus a lot accentuate my own expression lines around my eyes not a look and of concealers look. This is the only concealer I have found so far that doesn’t!


          Pure’s Black Tea Mascara. Hands down. The ideal. Enough said.


          I’m obsessed with creamy eye shadows that give a little bit of color and shine without making me look like a 13 year old from 1998 (in other words, really glittery) — that they somehow create my entire face look brighter and most glowy. Small miracle workers!

          And 100% Pure’s Satin Eye Shadow at Star, which I apply to the inner corners of my eyes to brighten up them.


          The Satin Powder Blush of beautycounter is my current favorite. I favor since if applying over a CC cream or face oils, it’s easier to use a powder blush over cream, and I am clearly about simplicity in regards to beauty!

          LIP COLOR

          Ahh I love a lip that is colored! Even when I am a total mess, it makes me feel lady-like and pulled together.

          For a night out or more appearance, Jane Iredale’s Forever Pink Lip Stain is as its name implies it’s a pink which lasts — where it’s at.

          I’m also a big fan of Beautycounter’s Sheer Lipstick — that I have (and love) both Rose and Poppy colors.

          Pretty easy, huh?

          My morning beauty routine only takes about 2-3 minutes using the aforementioned products and THAT is a gorgeous thing. I spend more time staring in the refrigerator deciding what to eat for breakfast.

          And like I said, it’s ironic that adopting a very simple, natural skincare routine managed to totally change my complexion — I used to think that I really needed all those harsh chemicals in the products I had been using, and the more the merrier. Now I know better (hell, I only wash my face once per day!) And my tears have been spent on much more significant things, like the movie Up (seriously, I had no idea it would be this a tear-jerker!!) .
